Salt Water Flies

Salt water flies generally represent four categories of food: baitfish, squid, shrimp and crabs. They are not unlike streamers and freshwater nymphs and shrimps. The biggest differences are size and that they are generally tied on nickel plated or stainless hooks. I tie a small number of patterns of my own design which I found very effective for Mahi Mahi, Rooster fish, Sailfish and Yellow Fin Tuna. On request I can tie any of the Lefty Kreh and Joe Brooks patterns. Below is a list of the flies most frequently requested..
